Celestial Ear Stack: How to Style Star Earrings Without Overdoing It...
Spotted a tiny star stud on someone's helix and now you can't stop thinking about it?
You're not alone. A celestial ear stack is one of our favourite looks right now.
Our star pieces have been flying out this week, and honestly, we get why. Stars, moons, a little sparkle. It's dreamy without trying too hard.
Here's how to pull it off...
What is a celestial ear stack?
A celestial ear stack is simply an ear styled around stars, moons and starburst shapes.
It can be one tiny star tucked into your cartilage, or a whole night sky running from your lobe up to your helix.
The best bit? It works in gold, silver or a mix of both.
How do you style star earrings without overdoing it?
This is the big one.
Our biggest tip? Don't make every single piece a star.
Pick two or three star earrings as your little moments, then fill the gaps with plain hoops, simple studs or tiny crystals. That way the stars actually stand out.
Mix your sizes too. Something slightly bigger on your lobe, something dainty higher up.
Which is exactly how we like it.
Star earrings for your lobes
Your lobes are the easiest place to start.
Our Star With A Crystal Studs make a gorgeous first lobe piece. A star with a little sparkle that still feels everyday.
Want a bit of movement? Add a star mini hoop in your second lobe and your stack instantly feels more put together.
Star cartilage earrings: where do they look best?
Honestly? Almost anywhere.
A tiny star in your helix, flat or conch is giving main character energy, and it's one of the easiest ways to make your ear look curated.
Our Star With A Crystal Single Stud is ASTM F136 titanium with a flat back and comes in 6mm, 7mm and 8mm bar lengths, so it's a great shout for cartilage.
Just a heads up: if your cartilage piercing is still healing, don't rush to change your jewellery yourself. Pop into the studio and we'll help you swap it safely.
Can you mix gold and silver in a celestial stack?
In our opinion? 100% yes!
Stars and mixed metals are a dream combo. Just repeat each metal at least twice across your ear so it looks intentional rather than accidental.
Not sure where to start?
We get it. Building a stack from scratch can feel like a lot.
If you want the guesswork taken out, our Opal Celestial Bundle pulls three star pieces together in one go:
Opal Star & Moon Mini Hoops
Opal Star Studs
Dainty Star Single Stud for your cartilage
It's £40 instead of £56 if you bought them separately, and SO easy to wear.

A quick aftercare reminder...
Getting a new piercing to make room for your stars? Spray with saline twice daily, dry it with the cool setting on your hairdryer and try not to twist or play with your jewellery.
Once the swelling settles, your piercer may recommend a shorter bar. Our post on downsizing your piercing jewellery explains why it matters, and we can do your downsize at our Liverpool studio whether your piercing was done at Dorathy & J or elsewhere.
